2010 NABREW Conference in Kalamazoo The 2010 North American Blueberry Research and Extension Workers (NABREW) conference will be held in Kalamazoo on July 25-28. The conference will feature more than 40 presentations and 30 informative poster displays on topics ranging from disease control options for organic blueberries to the latest research in blueberry genomics. Activities include roundtable discussions and a tour of the Southwest Michigan blueberry industry. Keynote speaker Mike Mainland of North Carolina State University (NCSU) will present about the history of the North American Highbush Blueberry Industry. Mainland received his doctorate from Rutgers University in 1968, and currently researches the management and environmental effects on blueberries and muscadine grapes at NCSU as a professor emeritus. NABREW has been a key educational forum for blueberry researchers, extension educators and industry leaders since 1960.
